Personal Health Insurance Toolkit

Understanding how to identify and evaluate your health coverage options is a necessary yet difficult and tedious process.  Having the right tools to help you through the process is critical.  While there are many resources available to assist you with making a decision, brokers, HTC or chapter staff, navigators, etc, only you know the full extent of your family’s health care needs.  It is up to you to ensure that you choose the plan that best meets those needs.

Whether choosing a plan on the individual market, through a health insurance , a group plan offered through your employer or a managed care plan through your state Medicaid program, there are many things to consider including cost share, benefits and network adequacy.

The National Hemophilia Foundation’s Personal Health Insurance Toolkit was designed to provide you with the information and resources you need to help make the selection process easier.  Included in the toolkit you will find a glossary of health care terms, factsheets, links to available resources and worksheets designed to assist you in determining the costs associated with the plans available to you.
